The official Chemical Society of the Department of Chemistry, Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences (BCAS), University of Delhi, ‘Alchemy’ was established in 2017 with the objective of fostering academic excellence and holistic student development. Guided by its core belief in ‘creating, curating, and disseminating knowledge’, the society serves as a vibrant platform for promoting chemical sciences through seminars, expert lectures, workshops, conferences, and field visits. Alchemy organizes the annual departmental fest, ‘Rasayanutsav’, which blends academic rigor with creativity through events such as quizzes, poster presentations, and other interactive activities. The society also facilitates specialized talks on environmental chemistry, applied chemistry, career opportunities etc., strengthening the link between theoretical learning and real-world applications. Apart from academic activities, Alchemy also organizes cultural events such as Hindi Diwas celebrations, Diwali celebration etc., which help students to express their creativity. The society follows a democratic system, where the office bearers of Alchemy are chosen through student voting. These student representatives take responsibility for handling and maintaining the official and day-to-day activities of the society. Jointly managed by faculty members and student representatives, Alchemy encourages meaningful academic engagement, collaboration, and networking, thereby nurturing scientific temper, innovation, and professional competence among students.
